    For Love

In a park I used to dwell
With a boy I loved so well
He came and stole my heart from me
Now he's gone to set me free

Later on to home I went
Not a word to mother was sent
I fled upstairs to cry in bed
Not one comment was ever said

Daddy came home later that night
He looked for me left and right
He ran upstairs my door he broke
He found me hangin on a rope
On my dresser laid a note
    It said

    Daddy dig my grave
    and dig it deep
    With marble stone
    From head to feet
    On my gravestone
    Place a dove
    To show that I have
    Died for love

Poems come back to haunt us like prophesies fulfilled, but poems are not all futures, just rhymes and mysteries tilled.

I've heard this one (Or something very similar) many times before. It's one of my favorites. It's sad, but beautiful.

I don't think you've read this one. I wrote it twenty something years ago and have only shared it with a few people but I'd like to see the one you've read thst's similar.

That is so sad. But I like it. It read really well, the verse moved it along nicely. Good use of flow.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
