Poem Commentary

A Poem written for an old friend who struggled with adictions but has now over come them.

Falling Ashes

They rose from being condemned-
All the while falling-
From the depths with in thier own souls-
Freezing stillness-.....................................

Silence from within the empty darkness-
Motionless they fell-
Fearless they held on
to the coldness that arose from them-

Demons entering this sacred emptiness
leaving them feeling exhausted-
breathing silently them went
within the darkness to struggle free from its grip-

Escaping this hell-
They now awake free
from the demons the called addictions-

Falling ashes they once were-
Now they rise high-
High on life-

thank u

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
