Evil

Poem Commentary

Strangely this was the easiest poem for me to write. I'm not sure what that says about me, but it's true. I got the idea for this while watching a few too many horror movies, and reading too many dark books. I was also in a pretty bad mood when I wrote this. In case that wasn't obvious. :)

Evil

There's nothing but evil in me
All these people just won't let me be.
They see me sitting way in the back
Not knowing what they soon could lack.
They join me at my lonely table
And I try not to show that my mind isn't stable.
I invite them all over to my house
Knowing that, soon, there will be blood on my blouse.
They come over and sit on my bed
While murderous thoughts are going through my head.
I blindfold them all, saying that we're playing a game.
Then I start to think how this will be my fame.
I pull out my knives
And one by one, I take their lives.
I relish in the sound of their screams and cries.
Laughing as my last bit of sanity dies.
I congratulate myself on a job well done.
I feel no guilt: none.
Hearing this, it isn't hard to tell
That when my life is over, I'm going straight to Hell.
But strangely I am not bothered by this.
In fact, I will welcome Death with a kiss.
Hell is where I belong.
Maybe then I will stop singing this song.
Instead of being killed by someone else's blade,
My own decision, I have already made.
I'll do it a traditional way
And I'll try to fly away.
I leave the bodies on the floor
As I walk out the door.
I easily find a cliff
And my body suddenly goes stiff.
I ignore the feeling and keep on moving
As I reach the end I realize what I am doing.
I walk away with a smile on my face.
I guess I can make one more murder case.
More horrible things will be done,
And I laugh knowing the devil has won.

Very powerful and direct........ I enjoyed this piece.... i would've probably gone a bit different direction as far as the subject's source, and use the voice of all repressed and under-appreciated, much maligned person on this planet.... A good write none-the-less... kudo's....

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
