    Dragon's Dream

I rest my soul on a golden day.
As a dragon's breath smokes my way.
Among the steam, I see the starlight.
    I touch the dragon's heart.
    Did I ?
The magic I saw as he flew away.
    Told me of a lover
    Who was astray.
For a man of many delights.
He was measured by his steps.
As you measure the love of a sou,l
    It has no power
    It has no joy.
But its magic and its lordship
    Will set it straight.
Behold the secret of the moon.
The breath as the dragon spread it's wings.
    Behold a dream come true.
As you and your lover sleep.
Between the moon and the stars,
    The night the day.
In a triumph of a bed of roses.
    He will find his way.
And all the love and dreams.
That magic brings, with sound of trumpets
    Playing afar.
    The fire
    The heat
    The gleams of night,
Will fulfill my face with delight.
    As I open my eyes
    There I will see.
    The one I love
    Asleep silently

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
