    Don't

    Don't cry to me for what I cried for when you just shot me down;
    looking at me so condescendingly when I needed you most.
    Kicking me while I am down, pushing me under the water even more, making me drown;
    turning me into a ghost.

    I tried to be a friend, and even a lover;
    but to no avail.
    All you did was go around and hover;
    chasing every skirt and tail.

    Now I am alone again, what more is there to say?
    You aren't anything to me anymore.
    I hope you sleep well at night and are ableto get through the day;
    I hope you remember the pain, anger and agony you put me through when the rain starts to pour.

    Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
