    Distant Dreams

    In the lonely
    hour of dawn,
    beneath a frosted
    salt and pepper sky,
    silent tears flow,
    staining a heart
    with perpetual pain.
    Comfort and understanding
    hide behind tricky emotions
    and walls built of fear.
Yet, a heart, pitiful and broken,
    still beats on locked doors,
    hoping love will answer
    the desperate plea
    of distant dreams.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
