Poem Commentary

There are many people, many things, and many ways to make a person feel worthless, but if you get just one person to show them that they are priceless, the consequences from that is so monumental.

Dig Deep From Within

Dig through the hurt and the pain.
Dig through the hatred and the resentment.
Dig through the supressed turmoil that has been enbedded.
Dig through the embarrassment and the humiliation.
Dig through the anger that has consumed you.
Dig through the lies and the deceit.

Confront the ones that caused it all and forgive them.
Confront the part you played in it all and forgive yourself.
Confront the demons that haunt you and sleep well.
Confront the feelings behind it all and breath better.
Confront the person you came to be and accept or change.

Now after you have dug deep and comfronted...

Find yourself being a better person; no more holding back.
Find yourself being a changed individual; no more hostility.
Find yourself being a lighter soul; no weight on your shoulders.
Find yourself able to move on; no longer stuck in one place.
Find yourself able to move mountains; no more obstacles in your way.

Since you have dug deep, you get to see....

You see that you were always a diamond in the rough.
A diamond that needed to be polished, to see the clarity and the worth.
You see, know, and believe with conviction that you were, are, and will always be priceless!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
