Driving Her Out of My Mind
Looking through the window of this rolling
automobile.
I've traveled a million miles, but I can see
her still.
I see her in the mirror, on the billboards that
I pass.
I see her on the postcards, evrytime I stop
for gas.
I can never outrun her memory, it finds me
everytime.
That's why I just keep driving, driving her out
of my mind.
To the corners of the continent, to the oceans
deep and blue.
But I always have to turn around, what's a
broken man to do?
Another town, another road, an endless ribbon
of black.
Everytime I close these tear filled eyes, I know
she's coming back.
Coming back to haunt me, a peaceful place is
hard to find.
That's why I just keep driving, driving her
out of my mind.
I don't know where I'll be tomorrow, if I make
it through today.
But one thing I know for sure, I'll find her
along the way.
In the rainbow after the thunderstorm, in the
puddles by the road.
Every mile, every turn, she's everywhere I go.
So these wheels will just keep rolling, until
I find the end of these lines.
And me, I'll just keep driving, driving her
out of my mind...
