DAVID AND GOLIATH
BY: JOHN R. BUTCHER
“ DAVID AND GOLIATH “
NOW DAVID WAS A MAN OF GOD,
THOUGH SMALL AS HE COULD BE.
HE STOOD, AND FACED GOLIATH,
FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
THOUGH GOLIATH WAS A CHAMPION,
A HELMET ON HIS HEAD.
HE STRUCK A FEAR, INTO MENS HEART,
AND LEFT THEM ALL FOR DEAD.
STANDING ALL OF NINE FEET TALL,
A SPEAR CLUTCHED IN HIS HAND.
THE PHILISTINE WAS MADE OF IRON,
AND THE BEST OF ALL HIS CLAN.
YET, DAVID WITH HIS SLING SHOT,
HE SWUNG THE ROCK AROUND.
IT HIT THE GIANT, BETWEEN THE EYES,
AND KNOCKED THE BIG MAN DOWN.
THE MORAL TO THIS STORY IS,
LET GOD BE YOUR GUIDE.
CAUSE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE,
WHEN GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE.
“ DAVID AND GOLIATH “
NOW DAVID WAS A MAN OF GOD,
THOUGH SMALL AS HE COULD BE.
HE STOOD, AND FACED GOLIATH,
FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
THOUGH GOLIATH WAS A CHAMPION,
A HELMET ON HIS HEAD.
HE STRUCK A FEAR, INTO MENS HEART,
AND LEFT THEM ALL FOR DEAD.
STANDING ALL OF NINE FEET TALL,
A SPEAR CLUTCHED IN HIS HAND.
THE PHILISTINE WAS MADE OF IRON,
AND THE BEST OF ALL HIS CLAN.
YET, DAVID WITH HIS SLING SHOT,
HE SWUNG THE ROCK AROUND.
IT HIT THE GIANT, BETWEEN THE EYES,
AND KNOCKED THE BIG MAN DOWN.
THE MORAL TO THIS STORY IS,
LET GOD BE YOUR GUIDE.
CAUSE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE,
WHEN GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE.
