    Dark Peace

    Tripping,
    Descending,
    The ground falls away.

    Feels like I'm hanging,
    Screaming,
    But I'm spinning,
    Spinning downward.

    There's darkness,
    I'm fighting,
    I'm fighting the darkness.

    The abyss
    Swallows me,
    My screams
    Unheard.

    The blackness
    Covers me,
    My white dress
    No longer seen.

    I squeeze my necklace,
    My screams finally over.

    I close my eyes,
    And cross my arms
    Over my chest,
    And let my hands rest
    On my shoulders.

    As I let myself spin
    Downwards,
    Out of reach
    Out of mind
    Out of sight.

    No longer a care
    In the world.

    And at last,
    I'm at peace.

    And I keep falling,
    Into the blackness,
    And at last,
    My mind is empty,
    And I am at peace.

This poem is well-written, and shows real talent. "For being a young one"? No, this would be a great poem for anyone to write, written at any age. // It made me feel. I found it scary, so realistic I could feel it happening to me. // It sounds almost like a hopice poem. The peace thing...well, I didn't make it to the peace, this time around. But I'll read it again and again. I'm saving this poem to my favorites. // Poetry does not always have to please, to be good or great poetry. It can be good or great, by pleasing; but does not have to. This poem moved me deeply, and made me feel the action of the poem, as well as the interior of the poet at the center of the poem. // You have some heavy thoughts and feelings, young lady. // Of course, this gets a 10 from me. --Michael
