Cry

My body went numb
my legs went limp
i crashed to the ground
emotions overtook me
an all i could do was cry
but my eyes were all dried up
i could not shed a single tear,
not a single tear ran down my cheek,
not a single tear to wipe
an all i could do was cry.
My hands were shaking,
my heart was trembling,
i was buckled, i was broken
an not a single tear ran down my check,
not a single tear to wipe
yet all i could do was cry

I like how the words just seem to cascade in a gush of emotion. Situations like that are horrific to have to deal with when you are so distraught and can't seem to be able to cry it out physically. I love this. A ten.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
