    But Not Today

Someday I'll smile and catch the sun
Can't let you know that you have won
Someday I'll throw out your letters to me
Say good bye to each sweet memory
Someday I'll forget your tender kiss
Stop thinking about the love I missed
    Someday ....
    But not today.....

Someday I'll toss out your old fishing hat
Give away your old baseball and bat
You left so much when you slammed the door
I don't even know who I am anymore
Someday I'll toss your old favorite shirt
And smile and pretend that it doesn't hurt
    Someday.....
    But not today....

Someday I'll wake up and not think of you
I'll finally accept that we are through
Someday I'll forget to shed a tear
Not remember you holding me near
Someday I'll wake up and see the sun
And then think maybe I have won
    Someday.......
    But not today.......

SOMETIMES WE CLING, TO A SWEET MEMORY.. FRINGED IN PAIN, AND TRAGEDY...

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
