But how can I
Early morning first to rise,
I wipe the sleep from my eyes.
Telling myself today will be fine,
that today my smile will shine.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
To push aside all that is wrong,
to discard all that does not belong.
I have someone I must pretect,
my hurt he must not saspect.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
My words today is all is well,
never showing my innner hell.
Unable to forget what others have said,
I will hide it all in my head.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
A silent war I have to fight,
trying to find a guiding light.
Words can hurt far worse than steel,
the wounds much harder to heal
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
I am an adult I must act right,
no longer able to fight.
Do what others say I must,
leave my outrage in the dust.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
I wipe the sleep from my eyes.
Telling myself today will be fine,
that today my smile will shine.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
To push aside all that is wrong,
to discard all that does not belong.
I have someone I must pretect,
my hurt he must not saspect.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
My words today is all is well,
never showing my innner hell.
Unable to forget what others have said,
I will hide it all in my head.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
A silent war I have to fight,
trying to find a guiding light.
Words can hurt far worse than steel,
the wounds much harder to heal
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
I am an adult I must act right,
no longer able to fight.
Do what others say I must,
leave my outrage in the dust.
But how can I smile when others are harmed,
when all that I am is alarmed.
