    Breeze, Bye Bye

    Don't kiss my lips
    To blow me away,
    Leaving me this lonely stranger,
    Bring back the anger that held me down.

    My God,
    Don't you understand what you've done for me?
    Freeing my mind from the chains that bind;
    Freeing my mind of my horrible lessons,
    Because now I see that we are not perfections.

    You leaving,
    I'm not breathing
    As long as time grows still,
    And I don't have the will
    To see you go.
    It's just not something I can manage,
    And I'm at a disadvantage,
    And it feels too know
    Like my heart beats savagedly...
    Out of control;
    It's beating out of control,
    My soul is folding
    Because I'm holding onto the thing
    That I treat as gold.
    With you gone...
    My heart
    My love
    Is beating me cold

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
