    Autumn's In The Air

Just around the corner, the summer’s end is near.
The turning leaves, the cooler days, autumn‘s in the air.
School will be starting; new activities begin.
Homework, clubs, and new events will be the thing that’s “IN”
Excitement will be growing; new plans will be made,
Children will be going back to school in a new grade.
The lazy days and long hot nights will be a memory
The season and our schedules will change reluctantly.
Vacation time is over; there are special days ahead
All the streets and pathways will have leaves on which to tread.
The colors of the season will be red and orange and gold.
Air that has a little nip but is crisp and clean and bold.
I love this autumn season and this break that’s in between
The lazy days of summer and the coming winter scene.

Beautifully penned! You engaged all of my senses!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
