Aphrodite's Victory

Poem Commentary

Here is something about love. Aphrodite is the goddess of love. I hope you enjoy reading this. Because in society today we need to give back love to young ones, to elderly ones and many others.

Aphrodite's Victory

Someone asked me long time ago “Why did you choose Aphrodite?”

I requested with a smile “She is the goddess of love. She gives out love to those who needs love.”

He picked up a picture frame in gold metal scroll and asked again, “Why don’t you put a picture frame around it?”

I requested, “Because if I put a picture frame around her, her love will be confined. If I leave it the way it is, her love is free.”

He picked up a Greek pedestal and asked, “What if you put her on a pedestal for everyone to see?”

I requested, “Love is sometimes hard to see. Love is what you see inside of you not what people see in you.”

He didn’t understand my request, but I gave him a golden harp in the palm of his hand.

He asked, “What is this for?”

I said and smiled, “If you have this golden harp, love will be there to guide you every day. If you play the golden harp, you can call on love to guide you through hard and tough situations. If you don’t believe, why don’t you give it a try?”

With a stroke of his finger, he played the golden harp. He waited patiently, but nothing. He played it again with another stroke of his finger. And again he waited.

He said, “It’s broken, I waited long enough. I wonder what I did wrong.”

I smiled and said, “Love is already here. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean you don’t believe in it.” I asked him this, “Why don’t you close your eyes and play the golden harp?”

He closed his eyes and with a stroke of his finger he played the golden harp, and he heard a sound from the harp. Then, he heard voices of angels with wings they were giggling and playing. Then, slowly he opened his eyes and seen Aphrodite’s image was gone out of the picture. And her arms wrapped around his body tight hugging him with love.

Hug your friends, hug your loved ones, and let’s give back love.

I thought the girl who was telling him all these things was going to kiss him....shoot! Ahhh well....it's your poem, is it not? Good job......look up the word request, though. You are quite talented. TEN

Kiss or hug means love.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
