Anniversary Party
20 years of marriage -They should be planning
that "monumental" party.
She found her "Prince Charming"
but Hurricane Porn
blew the castle down.
And her outer shell is cracking
While she hears her favorite band.
She tried to hang on to the sacred vow,
Do her best for the children she bore.
Keep the family united -
Be strong!
Forgive and forgive the secrets he kept,
Try to forget - erase the past,
But it plays in her mind....
like a broken record.
Cover the fresh wound with guaze,
Move forward until the next episode -
next indiscretion.
Somewhere along the way she forgot to trust -
Lost her ability
To lean on her Strong Tower
She failed to tell the problem about God,
Instead, she told her friends
about the problem.
And the song plays on
while former wounds
scabbed over by denial and "enabling"
are peeled away.
THEN.......God reaches into the core -
the soft, pliable heart,
of a broken woman.
All done pretending - take off the mask.
She wants only God's way,
His sole purpose for her life.
God's divine plan,
With husband or not,
All that matters is Christ!
Put on the ointment of praise!
