An Exhalation of Breath
An exhalation of breath--
And life shall meet its end;
Death has its appointment
That no man can rescind.
And life shall meet its end;
Death has its appointment
That no man can rescind.
From vagrant to the wealthy,
No matter what your station,
The soul shall leave the body
For its scheduled vacation.
And in this earthly body,
No longer shall it dwell,
Sent to its destination,
Be it Heaven or in Hell.
What does it profit man
To gain all that's in the world,
When present life comes to its end
And hell is his reward?
Eternal torment in exchange
For earthly gotten gain,
If hope is in one's self,
Then all has been in vain.
We're born into this vale of tears,
In trespasses and sin,
The spiral towards the grave
Starts the moment life begins.
And be it long or be it short,
A decision must be made,
To trust or not in Jesus Christ,
On whom all sin was laid.
No sin in Him, and yet he died
That we may ever live,
A free gift for the taking
For all who will believe--
That we may ever live,
A free gift for the taking
For all who will believe--
In the person and work of Jesus,
To receive justification,
Made righteous through His blood
Because of imputation.
Rejection of the blood of Christ
For any other way,
Will not gain entrance unto Him
On death's appointed day.
The curse of death is on us,
Yet Christ was sent to save,
He gave power over death,
And power o'er the grave.
Confident are those of us
Saved by redeeming grace;
When earthly life is past,
Then we shall see His face.
We'll not suffer in the fires of hell,
We shall be at perfect rest,
No sorrow, pain or suffering,
Through Christ we have been blessed--
With an inheritance in Heaven
That shall never fade away,
Reserved for us, it waits,
Whenever comes the day--
That He takes us home
To dwell with Him,
Oh, what a day 'twill be
When we go to ever live with Him
For all eternity!

John 3:13-18
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
