An Atom to a Star

An Atom to a Star

What place have I

in this envelope of time?

I stand upon the shores of eternity

in awe of the universal mind.

Its creation before me…

deep beyond measure.

As an atom to a star…

I am one with the cosmos.

Like shattered, splintering light

my spirit shines forth and

echoes endlessly across the universe

I am one with time…

consumed by its expanse…

a ripple upon a sea of immensity.

this makes me think of myself and how i percieve life sometimes when im in bed and its dark and i look out amongst me its like i can see life as particles like whwn you see a tv screen all staticy i sometimes wonder if its just me or if its God reminding me of how connected i am to the rest of the universe like a piece to a puzzle... i love this poem you wrote it for me & didnt even know it til now.. God knew it thoughLOL!!!

Wow, I think you have great capacity for poetry, I would say you have lived and contemplated these things before or you would not have the propensity to look outside the box. Very well written and keep up the good work.

This is what I love about poetry. There are SO many ways to write poetry and because of that, I get to see how others do it. Hope you understand if I say you write like an "old soul." It's a compliment! :)

I enjoy how your incorporate your love for space into your writing. What a wonderful way of using imagery. Your rhythm is very nice. I love the last line...it seems to tie a nice bow in the entire presentation of your piece. Another nice write. :o) Bj

Thank you so for your comment. This was a difficult one to try and write..., because the subject is hard to put into words. My fear about this one is that people would find it to be incoherent. Im glad that you were able to follow it and appreciate the meaning behind it. Thanks =)

Well written poem! I like the imagery portrayed. "A ripple upon a sea of immensity" reflects the imagination of the poet :)) Great Job!!

Thank you for your feedback. "A ripple upon a sea of immensity" is truly how I feel about life whenever I look at the Big Picture. Im glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks =)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
