    Amber Glow

While I was walking the field
my eye caught an amber glow
    twas not the setting sun
    but loves sweet harvest

    As I stood watching her
    she became aware of me
A smile played across her lips
    an invitation I must except

She meet me on a hill top
both arriving at the same time
I looked into her and saw the
    fire from an amber glow

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
