    A Slammin' Celebration

    On that glorious eve,
    shepherds in the field
    fell to trembling knees,
    witnessed with double-wide eyes
    angels light up inky-dark skies
    praising, singing and exalting
    the swaddled, infant King,
    born to blessed Jewish refugees,
hunted by Herod, the evil king
    who feared the Child's sovereignty_
    It was He, the Child
    whom the magi deemed
    the fullment of Biblical prophecy_
    It was He, the Child
    whom some people highly esteemed,
    and others labeled a super-celebrity_
Alas, it was He, the Rabbi
    some misguided souls regarded
as merely a teacher of morality.
But to us, He is the Messiah,
    the Mighty Horn of Salvation__
    Whose birthday is truly worthy
    of a grand-slam celegration.

Amen ! Praise you Father !

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
