Poem Commentary

Just a little something I wrote after reading Edgar Allen Poe's Annabelle Lee.

A Farewell from Annabel Lee to Her Love

Farewell, my love, I must say,
For I will be no more, come the light of day.
Doomed to tread this earth nevermore,
As I step gracefully through Heaven's glistening doors.
Our time together, though short, was sweet.
So farewell, my love, only in death shall we again meet.

I love this, it made me smile as Annabelle Lee is my favorite poem of Edgar Allen Poe. Nice job:)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
