A brief interlude with my grandson, Cameron
In this evaporating time we live, I seize the moment, tightly holding onto it, branding it into my memory. His body close to mine, our warmth intertwine, our hearts echoing the other. He is feeling heavier now, breathing is deepening. Is he already entering the world of dreams? Ahh not yet, not ready, I'm not ready though the moment is dissolving in my grasp like oil, releasing sweet fragrance. I nuzzle my face in his neck, hold his tiny frame a little tighter, whispering my love, devotion and just how very much God loves him. But my treasured moment is over, no matter how firmly I hold him to my chest, his body is limp, his breathing is now a soft snore. I reluctantly submit to gently lay my sleeping grandson in his bed kissing him softly, cooing in his little ear, "till we meet again my precious love, till we share this time and space once more".......A brief interlude with my grandson, Cameron
