    A Beautiful Soul

When I looked into his eyes

I see this most beautiful light

    It shines

    It shines from his soul

    It’s showing his greatness

I see all the good in him

All that he is and will be

    I see, I see and I’m proud

Are you familiar with the rondeau, a French fixed form that works very well for love poetry? Three stanzas: 5 lines, 4 lines. then 7 lines. The construct is RABBA; AABR; AABBBAR. A and B are rhymes and R is a refrain, a repeated rhyme or the entire line. Try it.

This sounds like someone is truly in love...How refreshing in this time of transient affairs. Good stuff.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
