2 Helen from Jim - God's Gift 2 Me

I stand to survey
All time that is fleeting
The wind, light, and wave
Crest shore and are beating

My love waits for me
My yearning is high
Her fragrance it wafts
Like clouds in the sky

Still, no one’s before me
A memory I keep
The warmth of her skin
Her face while she sleeps

A weary one I
And fortunes I make
My love sleeps abroad
No rest will I take

King Saul’s LIFT from God
Thru David I’m seeking
His hand on her heart
The gift of her breathing

My love she awakes
I’m set towards her sea
The dawn it now breaks
And I hold her key

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
