You Touched Me
My eyes light up,
My heart races,
I get excited,
I've just seen you.
I close my eyes,
My heart skips,
I'm utterly relaxed
I'm holding you
My eyes are cloudy
My heart hurts
My body's numb
You're leaving me.
You Touched Me
My eyes light up,
My heart races,
I get excited,
I've just seen you.
I close my eyes,
My heart skips,
I'm utterly relaxed
I'm holding you
My eyes are cloudy
My heart hurts
My body's numb
You're leaving me.
If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
