Who says I don't love you?

Who says I don't love you?

Who says I don't love you?

How are you sure that's even true?

    Lies they say to you,

Because of me they lie to you.

Who says I don't care for you?

    How can they tell?

Its been only you and me,

and so far all is well.

Who says I cheat on you?

How, no, why would I do that to you?

I know what that would mean to you,

That's why I'm with only you.

    Who says we don't match?

    Why would that matter?

Our differences make our love a fact.

Who says I'm going to leave you?

    If I leave you,

    I dwell in your heart,

    We can never be apart,

once I hold you in my heart.

    I say "I love you."

I say that and hold you,

I say that while looking into your eyes,

who says I don't love you?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
