What might have been

Along time ago a girl and a guy
Liked each other and didn't know why.

They met while in high school
and thought each other was really cool.

They talked alot about where they were going
Neither of them really knowing

That when the girl moved away
And the guy decided to stay

They would miss each other way too much
and longed to feel each other's touch.

Forty years came and went
Then there was a great event.

He found her on the classmates page
and couoldn't wait to find her no matter their age.

She was just as happy as he
and decided soon each other to see.

They met one night for a special dinner
He laughed and told her she looked a little thinner.

They knew immediately they were in love
and knew they had to be together if push came to shove.

Both were married and had their own life
but somehow they would be husband and wife.

They knew it might be a long time when
They could make up for what might have been.
