    What is White?

    The combination of all colors

    The absence of all hues

    In the mix of perception

    Can blind

    Mind deception

    An impression

    Has been twisted

Through at twist of the light

    An umbrella corporation

    No standing ovation

    For white is the snow

    Sea salt

     clouds in the sky

    White a blank canvas

    For the creative mind

    White isn’t people

Just the paint on church steeple

White isn’t the absence of everything evil

    White is the best light

    To shine through our fears

A white lie is a lie

    No matter how it appears

    White sounds like right

    But they aren’t the same

    White is a wavelength

Of the light at its best

    Real white is transparent

    It just enhances the rest

    From sunlight, fluorescents

     Its not blessings of Christ

    White isn’t only goodness

It can be layers of ice

    White is translucent

    a future

    The day after night

    White has no color

    Just reflection of sight

    In all directions

    Every section

    Piano keys

    Sandy beaches

    In these things

    That teach us

    White is a delight

    The open mind of humanity

    And there you have it

    White

Nice. It's like you paralleled the yin and yang so to speak. Another poem showing the deeper perspective of things. Nothing as it seems. Man always thinking he knows something, until he sees the truth and finds out he holds nothing but a handful of dust. Enjoyed this deeply descriptive poem.

that was a beautiful read i have to say...well written and poignant ...the subject is one not often touched by a black woman.I hope you write more enlightened verse.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
