    Poem Commentary

Because sometimes as children we forget our parents have pain as well.

    What I See…

When I look in your eyes I see your pain.  I see your lost of will.

I see your despair as if I could almost feel what you are feeling, for I to have been yearning for parental love for sometime now.  I see my fears have become your reality for to loose a parent without receiving their love must be the worst feeling a child could face. Mom I’m so sorry for your pain.

I’ve been searching for a way to give you comfort, unsuccessfully.  Mom you are the one who has thought me there is nothing worth not overcoming.  I feed from your strength , I learn from your wisdom, I overcome because you do.  I can not imagine what it would be like to go on without you, for you are the one who’s guidance is needed the most.

What I see is you smiling once again soon, soon enough so that you can help me smile during these difficult times, soon enough so that my time of weakness comes to an end.

What I see is you the mom I’m grateful to have been blessed with.
