    Warm November (For my daughter)

    Has it been six years
    Since I last saw you?
    Through heartaches and tears
    I still remember you.

You were alive and so well
    Laughing and joking, always funny
Since losing you, I've been through hell
I still cry for you today, honey.

My beautiful daughter, it was six years ago
This week, I saw you alive and so happy
Another warm November, much like now
How do I not grieve and be so unhappy?

    November 1999 was warm too
And dry just like this week
I cannot help but to feel blue
Your precious smile is what I seek.

May your gentle heart rest in peace, my sweet beloved Tami. I will always carry you in my heart, love Mama.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
