Unspoken Promise
What words have yet to be written? What letters have yet to be read, lost in the earth’s unforgiving sands of time? Written by both men and women alike, pouring their souls into words hoping to be loved by another. My hope though, is not to be loved in return for these words. My reward is the hope that I will touch your heart as you have so deeply touched mine.
Once, long ago, love was abundant. Blanketing the earth with her gentle embrace with a power of such magnitude that love could not only be felt, but seen through everyone as well. With every breath let out words of love would follow. Everyday the sun rose, or the sun set a new love was born. For every star in the sky there was a heart that belonged to someone else. These were the days of old when such bliss was the sound of two hearts beating as one. When for every grain of sand in all of the world could not compare to the amount of love carried by the ocean winds.
How, in the days of new, could it be so different? Long since the days of old has the hatred of man filled the earth. Leaving nothing to show for what once was so abundant. Yet, I am still able to make this promise to you. A promise never spoken in words, but can still be heard through every beat of my heart. Though we are separated by more than a thousand miles, if you listen, the promise can still be heard through the subtle breeze that caresses your gorgeous face.
Never will I let the decaying essence of man put darkness upon my own heart. Not only will you always feel my love, but you will see it through my eyes as well. For every breath you take in love will closely follow because I will never leave your side. Everyday that you wake to a beautiful sun rise or lay to sleep to the fading of the same you will know that for at least one of those in the past a new love was born. For every time you look up at the stars you will know that for at least one of them there is a heart that belongs to another. For every time you let the grains of sand slip through your fingertips you will know that they now longer compare to the amount of love you have. I will never give you a reason to leave, but every reason to stay. I will love you more than the desert loves the rain, and even more than the earth loves peace on her war shattered surface. This I promise you.
This promise, these words of love bound together by no other than love herself, will forever remain chiseled in the very depths of my soul. They will escape from within only through the strong beats of my heart. Only in search of you will these words continue to travel among the leaves scattered by the autumn winds. I hope they have reached you on a day in which you are happy and with out tears, for I will be home soon, in search of your loving smile.
