    Undiscovedred Continent

    I am an undiscovered continent.
    Unchartered lands
    holding secret treasures,
    untouched by hemispheric pressures,
    independent stranger to mundania,
    republic soul seeking insignia,
    deflecting emblematic trances.
I bear no flag nor swear I allegiance
blindly to any cause not my own
yet will I beat the drum and march, alone, but not lonely.
To champion what is right, I might
even for a while join your fight
but my untamed heart requires gentling like a beast,
wind wild and furious from the pain of unrelenting longtitude
    and so I remain
    an undiscovered continent.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
