    Thunderstorm

    There is no sunshine today.
    Black clouds took it away.
Suddenly! up in the sky,a bolt of lightening flashes by.
A crash of thunder loudly roars. As the rain begins to pour.
The wind begins to fiercely blow,
    Twirling things too and fro.
    Listen to the pouring rain,
    Dancing on the window pane.
Bouncing off a roof of tin.
    While quietly we're listening.
Hear the rain fall to the ground, with an enchantic, rythmic sound.
    Suddenly! it all stops.
Here comes the sun, out it pops.
A beautiful sight catches our eye.
A colorful rainbow across the sky.

This poem moves the reader along from one experience to another... from black clouds, to crash of thunder, to wind twirling things, to rain dancing, to hearing the rain fall rythmicly, to its sudden stop and sun popping out. And ending with a rainbow. It was a nice little journey.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
