This Room
I’m alone in this room.
The room you banished me to
Away from the love and laughter
And everything that comes after.
I hear my pen calling me
“We have poems to write,”
“Yes, we can make the most of this night,”
This room is my sepulchral home
A maelstrom of thoughts
My pen captures for the page
And releases for you to read.
I hear my pen calling me
“Marry me, I’ll be the bride and you, the groom.”
“I might as well, since I’m banished to this room.”
