then some

first there is truth
it is all we have.
and remains
even when lies invade
when we are doing our
damnedest to destroy
all that we hold dear.
second there is loyalty
and when we give it
we have lost it
until it is returned to us
because giving it
does not insure
its reciprocity.
third there is virtue
it is ours to have
and to give
and to lose
and to regain
and we can have each of these
without the other
but if I had to choose
I would take love.
because the truth
is not always good
loyalty is not always earned
and virtue is not a comfort
in a barren heart.

I'll take love
and then some.

nice!!!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
