    Poem Commentary

One morning I was on the computer, my yellow labrador dog, Teddy, was sitting on the bench staring out the window. He likes to sit there and watch the world go by. This poem is for him.

    The Tedster

looking through the window on a grey dreary day

hoping that pesky squirral comes my way.

all I can do is watch and hope

not at all like the family joke

    I waited all day

    right here I will stay

    I guess he's not coming

damn I wanted to go running

though it's not all in vain

I will go and chase the cargo train

This was very cute, and it amazes me how long they will wait to see another animal. I have had dogs all my life...usually big ones. I raised standard poodles, then rottweilers, even had doberman pinschers...always one at a time. Now I have a miniature schnauzer...16lbs. Oscar. I love reading about animals...hope you don't mind my dog info.

This is like reading the thoughts in somebodys mind. Personal yet not prying. Kinda kool....thoughts about a squirrel....and a train. Great line of thinking.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
