The bird

The bird

the bird flies high
way up in the sky
looking for shelter
a morsel to eat

I watch as he flies
up and down through the sky
his search relentless
focus intent

what will it be
when he lands on a tree
which branch will hold
the tales untold

hunger abated
flight dissipated
the day wains on
as night falls gently

the world now still
crosses the hill
the bird settles in
from the peace within

As a photographer and a bird watcher of sorts I appreciate your observation. What a simple but great write. I love your easy style!!! Keep up the good work.

I loved it! Just thinking...you ought to do a parallel poem. You know, "The Man" and tell sort of on the same short lines what he does....like, "The man rides high...a glass elevator to the sky...to sustain shelter...to thwart helter-skelter...I watch as he bustles up and down the isles...carefully retrieving important business files...yada-yada-yada. But fun! Man vs. Animal. I am looking forward to more from you...I like your style! Feel free to use my little contribution. hehehe.

Thank you for the nice comment. I will use your advice and write one up. Thanks! Dave

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
