Poem Commentary

this is the story of JESUS!!!!

the stars

people keep on telling me
the stars are far away
then why do i feel like
i can hear what they say?

they tell me God was on the earth
as a precious newborn child.
he will grow to be a man
with a temper thats mild.

they say this child never sinned
and lived a life so pure
he then died to call us kin
a family, his children.

he was put in a tomb
and there they thought he'd stay
but his deciples knew
he'd be back in three days.

when he resurected
he told them then
they may be normal fishers
but they were called to fish for men

here is where my poem ends
but this is not, my friends
where christ has finished
he may not be on the earth
but his glory has not diminished

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
