The Solo Christian to Shepherd’s Child

    I do well by myself
For you see I need no help
I chose my path for me
    Not for anyone else

    There have been difficult times
And I sought the answers alone
I made it through it all
For I needed no one else

Then you stepped into my life
And tried to change my thoughts
But I wouldn’t open the door
I still felt I needed no one else

You continued to knock on the door
But the door to my heart was closed
For you see I felt I couldn’t trust anyone
I had all the answers and needed no one else

Finally the day came I opened the door just a crack
To see why such a uproar about this Carpenter's child
You entered in and softened a little of my heart
But I still felt that I needed no one else

Time went by for years in fact
But you were still in a small corner of my heart
You continued to whisper in my ear
Listen child you still need some one else

Now I have open wide the door
Jesus came in and filled by heart
The pain and hurt began to heal
For Jesus took it away all by himself

Now that you know how it goes
When you open the door to your heart
Jesus enters in and fills the space
Now the Solo Christian does not exist

Hear my story open your heart and let him in
Jesus gave his life for all of us upon the cross
It is true we do need someone else
Let us all become the Shepherd’s child

Nicely done! As small as a mustard seed will grow tall as a tree that softens the hearts in you and me! Super start Sis!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
