The silence
Our minds, our bodies
were caught in the resonation of bells.
Our stone heads struggling in a web of sharp grass
Chirping at the passing
We chiseled hands and melted around cameras;
Snap shot after snap shot;
fading moments in conciseness’
wave upon wave,
splashing the roofs of our mouths,
pitted against the backs of our straightened teeth,
teething at our lips for a memory we could kiss sweetly in the middle of the end
dark & clammy-
red like our tongues;
the flesh under our finger nails as we bite them-
chewing on thought, "the night a crutch for lullabies and closing eyes"
So take it –seize it: by the cuffs - the tie- the shoelace trailing
dragging beside us ominously
and when the sun sets call your lovers and blow a kiss.
