    The Love of a mother

I wonder why my mother never loved me
I was born in her image, just as she
all i wanted was my mother's love
    mother,why can't you love me?i love you
we are the same,i am you and you are me

mother why can't you see me
mother please look! it's me down here
mother do you love me, you never see me
mother you never call my name
    mother do you know me
    mother what is my name
if you could only see me i know you would love me

mother where are you when i cry out to you
because i am afraid of the dark
i lay still in my bed, afraid to move because i hear loud
voices,i know you are being hurt by someone
i hear you crying mother,i want to come to you and hold you
i feel your pain mother, but you never talk to me only to call me girl, is that my name mother you never answer me
why mother? i am you and you are me, we are one

let me help you,i love you mother i don't want you to hurt anymore
mother you never say you love me
mother you never call my name, who am i please! tell me
call my name so i can see how it feel, how it sound
my mother,my me who am i somebody please! tell me who am i

i want to know me, my mother or the girl that i am always called
so i am a girl and i am called girl
no love,no mother, nothing but a nobody called girl

Charlia, this is such a sad touching poem. I always had my mother's love, so I never knew what it would be like to not have it. After reading this, I can see how it would effect someone. This just should not happen to anyone. I pray that you have found a love that completes you and gives you the identification you long for. Actually the only love that I know that could take the place of a mother's love, is the unconditional love of Christ Jesus. He loves you as no other can.
