    THE LOVE I LOST

    I had u my love,but yet I let u go
. I thought that what I had will always and forever be so
. But i was wrong as I could be.I took our love for granted
.I looked at what we shared through my eyes and not with my heart. That's why I couldn't truly see or gain an understanding.
I couldn't see the realness in your ways,or the sincerity in your eyes,
I couldn't see the existence of god in your spirit, and the humbleness in your cries.
I could not put you on that pedestal.Even knowing, that up there is were a queen is most comfortable
.Instead I was selfish.I pulled u down to my eye level and made u acceptable.
Is this how a man treats his Blessing from God?
    I ask myself
.Cause truly without u love, there is nothing left.
You are the creation of my lord.and the heir of all of his beauty and grace.
You are the love I lost.
And the love that ca'nt be replaced.

    Very moving.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
