THE LIGHT THAT SHINES
For just one moment
I found myself,
through the eyes of another.
Guided by light that reigns from above
it shined down on you
and told me to love.
You opened my eyes
and a rainbow appeared
leaving me dazzled
and moonstruck with fear.
I learned a long time ago
from each broken heart
how to forget
how a blessing will start.
Painstaking heartaches
took me out of his light
so when you came along
I was taken by fright.
There is no choice
when your guided by light
no point in denying
so don't try to fight.
Its God's will
that will be in the end,
if you live in the light
he will show you a good friend.
The friend might be broken
just as you are
but do as he wants
and you'll shine like a star.
Then
as quickly as you appear
you leave without mention
my rainbows lost its color
to much storm, to much tention.
As if struck by lightening
I'm electric with tears
your heart once beating happily
now drowned by the beers.
I feel your pain
you keep hidden inside
your here in my heart,
by God I will abide.
Where did this start?
how did it end?
is it over?
or did I misplace it again.
The time that goes on
the things that I do
only remind me
how much I love you.
So low and behold
I'll try again,
to remember where
I put my good friend.
Maybe I put you
in my back pocket
for a trip to the moon
on my very own rocket.
Or maybe I put you
where I put most of my things,
in the junk drawer
with my knights and my kings.
How must this end?
which way will we do?
God only knows
its his big show.
Maybe someday
we will learn what to do,
when your blessed with an angel
don't throw a shoe.
