The Last Wish

The Last Wish

I don’t wish on children’s games.

I’ve watched the stars come and go

And have made only two wishes at the ones that fell

But now I wish I never wished away that last star for a moment of feeling.

Instead stored it away in my steamer trunk for a rainy day

And experienced something more than just a moment of affection.
