Life in Numbers

I’ve searched for one

Through the use of two

And realized three is right for me.

I’ve abused four

And relinquished five

I have only experienced six

I’ve seen seven in another’s eyes

And relived eight

Now I refuse to face nine

ten is in the angel’s smile

Hidden behind, lies eleven

But inside I see twelve

But I am thirteen

Deprived of fourteen

I really like the wordplay here, I must go and read it again. Good stuff!!!

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
