The Last Dark Kiss

You should have listened when I told you that my life was cold.
I had nothing to live for til you came along, but even then you sang your sweet song.

A so-sweet song that corrupted my mind and made me think of you as kind
But kind you're not, treating my heart with all the truths that aren't.

If there aren't truths, there are the lies that make love so hard to despise.
They cause you to forever turn your back and get the final kiss of Black.

The eternal black kiss, it kills my soul, it blemishes my heart as a whole.
It then turns me against your love then that gives me a violent shove.... towards the hell below or the heavens above.

Towards which one I'll never know, Until I see fit for me to go.
And leave this world behind, and turn my back to the Eternal Last Kiss of Black.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
