The Greyness of the Sky
I stand in a fieldWhere albatross try to hide the greyness of the sky.
The long grasses wave peaceful greetings of love and hope and
Peace is what we wait for
On the cold shore of love
Where the stronger leaves with everything and the weaker leaves with
Nothing is what I feel
When I look to the sky
And when you look into my eyes,
For I am as empty as the field
Where our feelings are forgotten
And our hearts lie rotting
For the albatross to feed on.
So let bygones be bygones
And we'll walk away alone
Tired to our souls
And sadness aches our bones.
But you cannot turn around.
No I am much too proud.
We'll take our sorry, pecked at hearts
And smile to hide the greyness of the sky.
