The Final Trial

Waking daily to the same routine... Got up today ready to chase my dreams.... Hopped out the shower then put on my jeans... An alien in the world I never seen... Puzzled state of mind not sure how I arrived... People walking right past me as if I’m not alive.... I pay it no mind but then I look in the mirror... Now I stand here and the picture is getting clearer... Gazing out trying to find my reflection... But all I see is a spirit with no connection...I see others behind but all they doing is resting... While my soul and mind are steady wrestling... Putting up a fight trying to see the light.... But it seems darkness has already won the fight... Seeking refuge please book me a flight... Mama said you’ll neva be at peace if your soul aint right... Wanting to escape but I’m in too deep... Images of paradise puts me to sleep... I heard a saying watch the company that you keep... Subdued by my temptations has hell under my feet... See I thought I could drink my worries away... But that didn’t work so could smoking save the day... Nah I’m still stuck in the same place... Looking for a better way so help me plead my case.. I guess in this situation I have to defend myself... Its funny how the people who you thought were your friends are now of no help... So I’m in the courtroom waiting for trial to begin... The judge enters and says not you again... He said I haven’t heard from you in a while we used to talk daily... I said I apologize I been busy lately... Too busy for me but I’m always here for you... I said I know judge, but you know how I do... Yes indeed I know so go head and take the stand... Put your left on the bible and raise your right hand..But why take an oath when you already know the truth... Because my son I’m always testing you... I’m sick of tests just be upfront and give me an answer... I just gave you one, didn’t I deliver your aunt from cancer...But that’s not enough you need more proof I see...Aren’t you tired of being in bondage don’t you want to be free... I guess you forgot I died on Calvary... Those nails in my hands were for you not for me...All I ask is for you to live right and just do your best...And I can give you the world, you can be beyond blessed...But no you want to fool with all that other mess...Smoking, Drinking, chasing after every dress...See I know its hard but you got to endure through the end of the race.. Because with me you already won so there’s no need to chase.. I gave you many chances but you hurt me every time.. So no need to convene with my jury I already made up my mind.. See I constantly forgave you and thought you would learn from your mistakes.. But unfortunately now its to late.. Wait, Wait, Wait, It can’t be too late.. I’m sorry it is, you determined your own fate.. As much as this hurts for me to say…Your time is done Bailiff come take him away..
