    The Fight

Struggle to live, Fight to surive
    Push forward as you strive
    Shadows closing in
Can this really be the end
Can I move on and leave the past behind
Will my heart truly heal in time
Question after question runs through my head
I know this life I have cannot be dead
I muster the strength and push on
I know there is a dawn
Break free step into the light
Better days will come after the fight
    Nothing matters more to me
Than a life happy and free
I will move on and I will succeed
That is what it means to be freed
The fight is not over until I am gone
But, no matter what there will come the dawn
The future is hopeful and full of dreams
For nothing in life is how it seems
    I won't give up, I cannot quit
Cause I will never ever forget
The ones I love, The ones that matter to me
For them I fight so I can be free

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
